T O P I C R E V I E WSunAscendantI have read that if someone's birth time is unknown then you set the time for noon. Is this true? I want to post a chart of someone but I don't know his birth time and am leaning towards just usig noon.Delilah423Yes, that is the standard way to do it.However, be aware the synastry will be at best only 70 % accurate. The Moon will be off by several degrees, you won't have any idea where the ASC and other angles really are, and you won't know the house placements.SunAscendant quote:Originally posted by Delilah423:Yes, that is the standard way to do it.However, be aware the synastry will be at best only 70 % accurate. He is an Aries sun. I'm trying to figure iut if he's an Aries Sun and Moon or Aries sun and Taurus moon. He doesn't seem to be wild enough to be an Aries Moon, but doesn't seem to be as calm enough to be Taurus Moon (but maybe).LaceyLeigh quote:Originally posted by SunAscendant: Well the day the person was born the Moon was in Aries during the day and switched to Taurus at night. If he is an Aries Sun/Moon, but a Sagittarius rising, that would put his Sun and Moon in the 4th house, which would give off a very calm, and Cancer-like vibe to his Sun and Moon. polkadotstarsThe moon will be off a bit. And you can't see where your planets lay in his houses. However you can see where his planets lay in your houses. Soo at least you have half of the puzzle right. Aries23DegreesIts difficult to tell the difference between the two if there are external aspects to the Moon.In a way,the position of the Moon is very much influenced by the outer planet that touches it.So if someone has Moon in Aries, then thy generally are quite active, volatile and may have a problem with being accident-prone-due to their impetuous nature. But when that Moon forms aspects to Saturn,a lot of that can be mitigated; suddenly we find someone quite cautious, careful, painstaking and really quite deliberate. Most people would not associate these qualities with a Aries lunar sign.Same goes for someone who has Libra Moon- even-tempered, slow to act, looking for consciousness in expression, loving to be with others and always cooperating. But if this Libra Moon has a conjunct aspect with Pluto/Neptune, we may find someone very intense in the 1st instance. And someone very non-challant and "chilled out" in the 2nd.Look to the aspects that are made to outer planets in either positions.PetronillaIs it really worth doing synastry at all when you don't know the other person's exact birth time?I don't know the birth times of any of the biggest crushes* I've had in my life, and I'm curious why they've affected me the way they did/do... but obviously I can't just go and ask I just wonder if there's any point in it all if you're only getting half of the story, so to speak?
